Fawkner is a northern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria just 13 kilometers from the CBD and Flinders Street Station via the Sydney Road. Fawkner is a part of the local governments of the City of Moreland and the City of Hume.
Transport from Fawkner into Melbourne CBD
The stations of Gowrie and Fawkner on the Upfield Railway Line are within minutes walk of Hume Villa Motor Inn offering guests fast access to Melbourne CBD. By Car, Sydney Road (Hume Highway) leads directly to the CBD or you can take the Western Ring Road to the CityLink Toll Way. Depending on traffic, you are only 25 minutes from the Melbourne’s City Centre.
Shopping around Fawkner
Fawkner’s main commercial areas are mostly automotive-related and light-industrial bordering Sydney Road. Bonwick Street has a shopping strip small corner shops and cafes with some great Italian cuisine.
A few minutes from Fawkner is Campbellfield – the home of Ford Australia on Sydney Road. Campbellfield is also an industrial and business suburb, with various industrial areas and business parks around the suburb. Campbellfield has a small shopping plaza on Sydney Road, which contains a K Mart discount store, a Coles supermarket and an Officeworks. Campbellfield is also home to Olympic Fitness Equipment.
